Tiga reveals that Kugelschreiber Castle has broken out of its hidden pocket dimension and returned to the surface world. Facing Subaru, Crusch, "Black Dog," Ferris, and Melty, Tiga banters casually alongside a squirrel-like spirit on his shoulder named Pooka. While Black Dog claims no memory of Pooka, Melty clearly recognizes Tiga. When the blinded Reborn urges Tiga to slaughter their exhausted foes, Tiga instead knocks Reborn unconscious with the pommel of his scimitar, announcing a retreat and ordering an unseen ally named Tornel to push "Detour" into overdrive. Black Dog unleashes green flames to cut off their escape, but Melty reveals fire is useless against Pooka, who consumes the blaze and identifies herself as the Great Spirit of Fire. Tiga scoops up the collapsed Bellaris, who activates her mind-altering "Ring Finger" aura. Subaru manages the affliction by absorbing it via Cor Leonis while Ferris treats him. Crusch and Black Dog try to pursue as Pooka spits the green fire back, but Tornel’s Detour scrambles their perception and awareness, causing Crusch and Black Dog to collide and everyone to lose track of Tiga. Melty attempts to physically block Tiga’s path at the basement exit, but Pooka enlarges to five meters, propelling Tiga harmlessly over Melty’s head. Tiga escapes with the two Beloved Children, leaving Melty shouting after him in vain. After the escape, Melty explains that Tiga and Pooka travel together without a contract, promising full explanations later. Ferris uses healing magic to successfully reattach his severed forearms. Exhausted from using her "Dragon’s Eye," Crusch collapses, and Subaru catches her, places her eyepatch back on, and prepares to carry her on his back as she falls asleep. Rachins suddenly arrives through the basement stairwell, unharmed. He explains that Russell Fellow ("Silver Fox") used his Divine Protection of Evaluation to perceive the castle entrance becoming hazardous, allowing them to evade the Beloved Children. Rachins corrects Subaru's fear that the castle's emergence was a Witch's trap, revealing that Beatrice is piloting the flying castle under Russell's orders. Using Beatrice's "Door Crossing," Rachins offers to guide them, explaining that Russell abandoned his usual secrecy to convert Kugelschreiber Castle into an airborne stronghold for their campaign to reclaim the Kingdom.
