Russell, the Director of "Six Tongues," warns that they have limited time before rumors spread. Beatrice searches the massive tree stump for a "Door Crossing" port connected to her former home. By drawing on Subaru's mana, Beatrice successfully opens a purple door of light. The exploration group enters one by one: "Black Dog" goes first and signals safety, followed by "White Sheep," Rachins, Crusch, Ferris, and Russell, who intends to use his "Divine Protection of Evaluation" to appraise Witch-related findings. Subaru and Beatrice then step through the port together. They arrive in a heavily damaged stone castle, which faintly glows upon Beatrice's return. Beatrice identifies the location as Kugelschreiber Castle, her family home which she has not seen in four hundred years. Subaru notices the severe structural damage, prompting Beatrice to explain that it was caused by Hector, the "Warlock of Melancholy," who relentlessly stalked Echidna. In a shocking series of revelations, Beatrice discloses that Hector is actually Echidna's father, and Pandora, the "Witch of Vainglory," is Echidna's mother. Finally, Beatrice warns the group to proceed with extreme caution, pointing out a bottomless hole in the floor and revealing that the castle floats in the sky of an alternate space where a fall would be permanent.
