Gazing at the distant Lugunica Royal Castle where Emilia is currently imprisoned, Subaru feels a deep sense of grief. Beatrice comforts him, validating his painful decision to flee the Royal Capital. Under Russell Fellow’s direction, the "Six Tongues" intelligence agency prepares to smuggle Subaru, Beatrice, the unconscious Crusch, Rachins, and agents "White Sheep," "Black Dog," and "Blue Snake" out of the city. Before departing the safehouse, Subaru helps the cloaked "Blue Snake"—a quiet healer who previously treated Subaru's burns—carry a heavy box. He also asks "White Sheep" to address him more casually, and she begins to say something else to him before Rachins interrupts. Subaru, Beatrice, and Russell board the lead vehicle of a disguised ten-carriage merchant convoy. Russell explains that the capital is under high security following Lord McMahon's unpublicized death. Meanwhile, Crusch remains unconscious due to the "Dragon's Eye," though Russell assures Subaru that "Blue Snake" is caring for her. At the capital's main gate, Russell and "White Sheep" present forged permits to a guard. Although a superior officer halts them to enforce strict procedures, a sudden, multi-vehicle carriage pileup occurs at the rear of the queue, collapsing a building and drawing the guards away to help. Russell urges Subaru to seize this distraction to escape, calling it the most pragmatic path, and "White Sheep" begs him to comply. However, after spotting "Blue Snake" running back toward the disaster, Subaru decides he cannot abandon those in need. Supported by Beatrice, Subaru leaps from the carriage and offers their magical assistance to the commanding guard. He rushes to "Blue Snake," who is desperately administering healing magic to a severely injured person pinned under a heavy wooden beam. When "Blue Snake" urgently instructs Beatrice to use her magic to lighten the beam, the healer throws back their hood, revealing their flaxen hair and cat ears. Subaru blankly realizes that the mysterious healer is actually Ferris.
